Web browsers display a confirmation dialog before using the so-called external protocol, which is used to open documents in SingleCase, among other things:
However, some of them do not allow you to save a rule based on which the message would not pop up. Apple Safari and older versions of Microsoft Edge have long been among them, but now Google Chrome is also included (and the new MS Edge, which shares a common basis with Chrome).
Therefore, we bring instructions on how to activate the option to save a rule in it:
Make sure that the browser has been launched at least once since installation on your device, but that all its windows are closed before further steps;
Download the .reg file from this link:
Run the downloaded file by double-clicking and confirm all its warnings.
The following keys will be inserted into the Windows registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]
"ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome]
"ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Chromium]
"ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox"=dword:00000001
You can then start the browser again and open the document from SingleCase. The confirmation prompt will appear again, but it will now contain a checkbox to save the rule.
Steps for Apple macOS:
Close Chrome if it is running
Open Terminal
Enter the command in it:
defaults write com.google.Chrome URLWhitelist -array singlecase://*
